WLW Pool Night at Coppertank - Downtown Austin

Our WLW pool night at Coppertank Pool Hall in Downtown Austin gave us exactly what we wanted: plenty of tables, liquid libations, and an absolutely dope space for the gays to mingle.

There’s a reason pool nights have become some of our favorites. Give a gay a pool stick (upcoming children’s book featuring an lgbtq+ mouse patent pending) and suddenly the awkward “soooo how do you know everyone?” conversation is not needed. Games started up quickly, people rotated in and out between rounds, and before long the tables had a mix of regular faces and people joining us for the first time and we love to see it!!

Coppertank in particular worked well for that kind of night. Instead of everyone staying planted with the group they arrived with, there was always another game starting, someone looking for a partner (double entendre?), or a reason to wander over and meet somebody new. Competition level ranged from “oh you PLAY play” to “we are simply hoping the ball goes somewhere,” which is exactly how we like it.

By the end of the night, Downtown had quite a few more lesbians out and about than usual — a successful contribution to Austin’s lesbian nightlife.
