WLW Pool Night at Slick Willie's, Austin

We kicked off February with a hat trick! Three weeks in a row with a fantastic turnout of lesbians and pool. Sapphic Weekly ATX met up at Slick Willie's for a rowdy pool night out. Slick Willie’s had 30+ regulation size pool tables, a super chill ambience, and drinks that mysteriously kept multiplying. New friends became old ones, some numbers exchanged (100 points for lesbians everywhere and future business for U-Haul), and connections were seen all around. So we were right where we wanted to be.

The night was relaxed, hella social, and made it easy for anyone to join our very gay gathering. Newcomers walked in alone and were greeted immediately (community building is a sport where everyone is a winner but being quick never hurts). For the Austin transplants (myself included), it was truly a beautiful sight to see so many of the people in our community come together on their own accord. Austin needs more sapphic spaces, and these hangouts are proof. So we will continue to provide them as often as we can. And it never hurts to be around your local lesbians - in fact we would argue it can actually IMPROVE your overall wellbeing (completely unfounded but community is community).

The group really loved this venue and promised to come back. And we did. Come by our next hangout and help us cultivate the Austin lesbian nightlife.
